The Laundry Garden is a very unique walled garden in North Wales. Avid gardeners, both Jenny and Tom have been creating, building and developing this beautiful space since 2008. Once The Laundry and Dairy to Llanrhaeadr Hall, this grade II listed property is built in true Georgian style. Built in the 1770s, Tom’s family have owned the house and surrounding land for over 140 years. Since taking on this project, they have built an Instagram following of over 230k. Opening their home, visitors can actually stay and explore these inspiring gardens. Beth Chatto is one of the most renowned and inspiring figures in horticulture. An award-winning plantswoman, author and lecturer, both her and her husband Andrew had a vision to create something unique on challenging terrain. Beth believed working with nature is as important today as it was then. ‘The right plant in the right place’. Although Beth Chatto sadly passed away in 2018, she would spend her final years getting out into her gardens, sharing her knowledge with staff and visitors. Today, taking the helm of these precious gardens is her eldest granddaughter Julia Boulton. Her childhood is tied to this beautiful area, so continuing with Beth’s vision is truly in safe hands, ‘She believed gardening should be fun and accessible to everyone, and that is still our mission’. What started out as a hobby quickly became a beekeeping obsession, and in 2018 she gave up a successful media career in London, to set up a new home and beekeeping career in the Waveney Valley.
